Ever since Casino Royale (2006) revealed that Daniel Craig is, in fact, The Suavest Man Alive, we've found ourselves wanting – craving, even – whatever he (+ his on-screen characters) own. A Tom Ford suit. Some Orlebar Brown shorts. A Sunspel polo. An Aston Martin. An Audi R8 parked alongside it. Is that really too much to ask?

And, of course, a nice big collection of Omega watches, so comprehensive it ranges from Swatch x Omegas to yet-to-be-released Omegas.

That last one is a perk of his role as an Omega ambassador. The British actor is regularly the first person on the planet to flex the Swiss marque's latest timepiece. In public, at least.

Last November, for instance, the actor caught headlines when he was spotted in (on?) Planet Omega (an exhibition held by the brand in NYC) wearing a nice, shiny, never-before-seen Speedmaster complete with a white lacquered dial.

That very chronograph is now finally available to buy.

Ask Omega, 'Why a white dial?' and it'll give you not one, not two, but three answers.

    1. Astronauts! The watch, like so many Omega watches (including the upcoming Snoopy MoonSwatch), is inspired by space exploration – specifically the space suits of space men and women. So, naturally, the dial had to be white.
    2. It observes the 55th anniversary of the ALASKA I, a white dial prototype crafted as part of a secret NASA project to design the perfect space watch. So... Astronauts again!
    3. It flips the design of the original Speedmaster, which launched way back in 1957. Omega opted for white hands and black dials to ensure the display was as easy to read as possible. Turns out black hands and a white dial combo makes the time just as decipherable.

Outside of its white dial, it's a pretty classic Speedmaster.

It's 42mm, it's stainless steel (that's case and bracelet), it boasts an exhibition caseback, and it's driven by a Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, which Omega is keen to remind us all is “the most up-to-date version of the legendary Calibre 321 that was trusted by astronauts on the moon”.

Not that they needed to sell us on this one – Craig already did that months ago.

The white dial Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional is priced at £7,600.
