Tudor has announced two new watches, in collaboration with Alinghi Red Bull Racing, a partnership that began in 2022.

The new watches join its Pelagos family, Tudor’s traditional mechanical dive watch line the brand says is ‘symbolic of aquatic adventures’.

The watches are both inspired by the AC75 yacht, the 75ft monohull which is due to be used by Alinghi in the America’s Cup competition next year. The watches are called the Pelagos FXD Alinghi Red Bull Racing Edition and the Pelagos FXD Alinghi Red Bull Racing Chrono.

Both models use a matte black carbon composite case and bezel insert, a first for Tudor, combined with titanium for the bezel, crown and chrono pushers, plus 316L stainless steel for the caseback and movement. The material combination echoes that used on their namesake’s hydrofoil racing yacht, making the watches particularly light and strong. Meanwhile, the blue of the dials is said to match the blue of the hull of the boat.

The Pelagos FXD Alinghi Red Bull Racing Chrono marks the first time a chronograph has appeared in Tudor’s Pelagos family. It comes in a 43mm case, has two sub-dials with red accents around the counters, a date window at 6 o’clock as well as the above-mentioned titanium pushers.

The Pelagos FXD Alinghi Red Bull Racing Edition comes in a 42mm case, with a titanium crown.

Both models use a bi-directional rotatable bezel intended to be deployed to allow the yacht team to calculate the time they have to be at the start line – rather than a bezel traditionally used for diving.

The new models feature the Alinghi Red Bull Racing logo engraved on the case back and written on the flange of the dial.

The Pelagos FXD Alinghi Red Bull Racing Edition is available now and costs £3,070. The Pelagos FXD Alinghi Red Bull Racing Chrono will be available from mid-July, priced £4,250.
