When it comes to modern American politics, you kind of just have to run with it.
Just a over a year ago, the idea of Hollywood hunk for-hire The Rock running for President sounded like a weird piece of fan fiction you'd find on a WWE message board.
But we now live in the age of Donald Trump and his idiot offspring. In the least inspirational sense, anything is possible.
So people started to half-jokingly talk up Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's chances of putting the People's Elbow through Trump's chances of a second term. Speculative articles were written, giddy tweets were sent, and the former wrestler posted a flattered message to Instagram:
But now it appears as if the actor is moving full steam ahead on the idea.
According to The Hill, a campaign committee formally filed 'Run the Rock 2020' with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on Sunday.
This is all very strange, because The Rock has never really come out to make his stance known on any important politics issues.
Also, because... it's The Rock. America, you okay m8?
