LA’s coolest boutique hotel is anything but standard. Really…
Visiting the city of angels? Avoid the soulless tourist traps and head over to Sunset Boulevard, where the Standard Hollywood operates one of the coolest hotels in town.
There’s art of all sorts, for one thing – the hotel plays host to a rotating selection of artists’ work, including Australian painter Anthony Lister, French digital illustrator Charles Munka and visionary Franco-Hungarian designer MAMBO. The artists’ work is displayed in the lobby and pool deck, and changes on a monthly basis.
But what truly sets the Standard apart from the pack is the food and drink. We’re not saying it’s quite worth flying to LA specifically to buy a burger, but the burgers at the Standard are pretty damn special, as are the mojitos (an ideal choice to wash your burger down with).
So there you have it. Food, culture, nightlife (oh, yes – they’ve got their own nightclub, the ridiculously-named ‘mmhmmm’) and not a hint of that ‘day trip to the Hollwood sign’ mentality. A hotel that sets the standard.
