The 1993 campaign image shot by Denzil McNeelance shows young Mossy cross-legged on a sofa biting her lip looking devastatingly cool as ever.
The Instagram artists has spliced together the original campaign shot with animations, pop art and product shots to bring the campaign right into 2016. The tag line "Remember The Future" plays on the idea of borrowing from the past to create the future, which runs through the video.
Adidas brand consultant Gary Aspden has explained the lasting relationship between the model and the trainers:
"Like the Gazelle, Kate Moss is just as relevant in 2016 as she was back in the 1990s, which is why the image works so well. Kate told me earlier this year that when it comes to trainers she has always been an 'Adidas girl,' so there was an affinity and an existing synergy there."
To launch the shoe adidas has shot influencers including fashion designer Charlotte Simone, musician Josh Caffe, creative directors of CMMN Sweden Emma Hedlund and Saif Bakir and menswear buyer Darren Skey.
With not only Moss but also these style tribes giving their seal of approval these are bound to be the retro trainer that keeps selling out this summer. Move fast.
