Better known for its dominance of the high street than of the capital’s niche shopping areas, global superbrand Topman has opened a new outlet in London’s trendiest neighbourhood, Shoreditch, and it’s right on the money.
Taking its cue from its fashion-forward surroundings, Topman General Store features exposed brick walls, a softly humming coffee machine and a curated range of clothing spaced out on rails that look like disused drainpipes.
Intended to “house Topman’s collections in a more appropriate setting, one in tune with its local surroundings”, according to design director Gordon Richardson (pictured top}, the General Store is aimed at “a discerning customer more interested in well-designed items than fleeting trends”.
That means you’ll find exclusive footwear from T&F Slack Shoemakers, an edit of key Topman brand items and limited-edition artworks and stationery. We like it a lot.
