Inspiration is an odd business. Bell, Book & Candle is a film about a witch who ensnares a man using her witch-like powers before realising she's genuinely in love with him. The answer to the question you're asking is yes, it's as ridiculous as it sounds. But, even more surprisingly, there's menswear inspiration in spades.
The best look of the film belongs to schmucky wannabe publisher Sidney Redlitch (played by Ernie Kovacs, pictured), who wears a suit with a twist. Wearing a traditional grey suit, he wears an anchor laced shirt with a dark red tie for a look that Paul Smith would be proud of.
It might not be one for your office, but here's a similar combination that you're free to try on the weekend:
Finish it off with this Bromleys knitted tie (£25, Classic Wardrobe), these APC trousers (£175, My Wardrobe) and Church's Pembrey Loafers (£280, Kurt Geiger) and you'll have a great look. Attempt to recreate the mustache at your peril though, it would have been fashion forward back in the Seventies.
