Gucci a go-go

For a brand steeped in so much heritage, Gucci has done a sterling job of making its digital mark. Since establishing its premier online retail outlet in 2002, the brand has continued to push the pixelated boundaries, both under Tom Ford and the latest creative director to take to the helm, Frida Giannini.

With a view to create a "digital flagship" Giannini's new platform features social networking capabilities, editorial content and interactive elements alongside opportunities a-plenty to spend some cold hard cash. Not only is the new site teched-up to the max, it's also pretty sexy, with bronzed shades abound and lots of pretty pictures and videos to waste your time flicking through.

There are plenty of bells and whistles from which to choose, but our favourite has to be the site's iPad friendliness. Alongside offering horizontal navigation - of which Gucci was a pioneer - the site also displays all available products on one page, making navigation mercifully easy. Oh, and as if iPad fans needed any more convincing, the new case - shown above - is surely one of the most decadent ways to cart your oversized iPod around.
