Hostem hits Shoreditch

Step away from the conformities of cookie-cutter men's style and step into the eclectic realm of James Brown. Hostem, the latest menswear boutique to hit Shoreditch, is retail innovator Brown's baby and what a breathtaking baby it is.

Brown’s vision for the store is an amalgamation of the various cultural influences absorbed on his travels. He enlisted design duo JAMESPLUMB to come up with the interior of the store, a heady mix of reclaimed wooden floorboards, illuminated hessian wall panels and retooled mirrors. Trawl the rails and you'll be confronted with pieces by a bevy of innovative menswear talents including Ann Demeulemeester and Rick Owens.

More art gallery than menswear boutique , a series of three conjoining spaces cater to the savvy shopper's every whim. The first room holds a host of Hostem essentials - this is where the impressive footwear displays reside.  The second room achieves a more intimate feel with a series of one-off pieces while the third and final space is reserved for more avant garde garments from a host of lesser-known designers.
