Textured Jumpers

Now that it’s February, your style could do with a change. After all, wearing the same variations of clothes you’ve had since last year can get a little boring at the best of times.

But if you’re not ready for a complete overhaul, then a standout item is the easiest way to feel like you’re doing something new with your outfits. The easiest way to do this is by getting a new jumper.

They’re the second most noticeable part of your look, especially when the weathers starting to warm up and you undo your coat more often.

A favourite of designers this season is the textured jumper. At first it seems a bit odd, but it’s a logical step from the flecked jumper, which was very popular last season. The textured jumper makes an outfit more interesting while not making the wearer change too much to wear it (unlike, say, a different shape of trouser).

Simply wear it over a t-shirt or plain shirt and you’ll be good to go. You won’t even need to change your trousers as they work well with the wardrobe staples of jeans or chinos.

We’ve trawled through the shops and found three of the best options in stores now.

Paul Smith (above)

The most daring of the three, this Paul Smith jumper uses a twisted boucle weave to create a bobbly weave pattern. It’s the sort of jumper that looks even better up close and, despite its complicated looks, works well with chinos or indigo denim.

Wear this if you’re still looking for someone to spend Valentines day with – it’ll be a great starter conversation. Only if she mentions it though, no one likes a bragger.

SNS Herning

Knitwear specialists SNS Herning have worked with many high end labels, including the likes of Comme Des garcons. And now this Danish label are showcasing their know-how, creating these multi-weave jumpers called the ‘Emergent’ jumper.

Wear these with a plain white shirt and raw denim and you’ll be the most stylish man in the room.

Folk

The most colourful choice out of the three. Don’t be scared though, just remember to keep the rest of the outfit simple. A white shirt and dark denim will ensure you don’t look like Bobo the style obsessed clown.
