Osteria Francescana has been crowned No 1 in the World's 50 Best Restaurants Awards.

The three-Michelin-star eatery based in Modena is run by chef Massimo Bottura and serves mouthwatering dishes like deep sea risotto finished with shellfish and Ox served with pickled vegetables, extra virgin olive oil whipped potatoes and black truffles.

Osteria Francescana pipped second placed El Celler de Can Roca in Spain.

The UK had three entries (all in London) in the Top 50 including, The Ledbury in Notting Hill (No 14), The Clove Club in Shoreditch (No 26) and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal  in Hyde Park (No 47).
