It's almost inexpressible how infuriating it is when you've left the house in a rush and you realise you've forgotten your bag. What if you could skip that irritation and just stick your bag to your back? Well, thanks to a few designers with their heads in the game, that's now a possibility.
Primarily the preserve of Japanese brands like M Tokyo and reborn heritage brand Mighty Mac (see the image above), the detachable bag is a quirk it's recently been picked up by the likes of Engineered Garments and British design supremo Carolyn Massey.
As with all new innovations, the design hasn't been perfected yet: M Tokyo's bag isn't detachable and the rest are rather difficult to get on and off. Niggling quirks aside, it's a combo that's sure to grow in popularity as the seasons go on (and people figure how to use it without looking like they're in a straightjacket).
