Beckham in Thom Sweeney

As a designer there must be few ambassadors you'd choose to showcase your clothes over David Beckham. Other than, perhaps, Prince William. Or Christ at the second coming.

You can imagine then how Thom Whiddet and Luke Sweeney (of Savile Row tailor Thom Sweeney) must have felt when they saw Mr Beckham sporting one of their navy wool single breasted suits, a navy silk tie and a white poplin shirt - not in the box at a football game or on the red carpet - but aboard the speedboat carrying the Olympic torch to the opening ceremony. Pretty chuffed, we imagine.
