There’s definitely an art to buying the right shoes, but Oliver Sweeney has taken it one step further with their shoe tattooing pop-up service at John Lewis, where you can get any design you want inked onto your footwear.
You’d be forgiven for not knowing that shoe tattooing actually existed, but the store’s tattooist-in-chief Sarah Cooper is one of a select few artists who are involved in the trend.
Don’t be misled, though; your shoes don’t need to look like Beckham’s forearms. Getting them tattooed can be as simple as getting your initials monogrammed on the tongue or a subtle
The pop-up lasts until June 24th at the John Lewis store on Oxford Street and the design work is included when you buy a pair of Oliver Sweeney shoes. Considering everyone seems to have a solid pair of tan brogues these days, it's an interesting way to make yours a genuine one-off. And far less painful.
